York H. Bleyer is a former Hot Wheels designer and design manager who worked at Mattel from 2007 to 2011. Prior to working at Mattel, he was an industrial designer, working with numerous companies before moving to Mattel in 2007. Initially working with Tyco, York moved to Hot Wheels in 2011 where he managed various employees and led the Innovation Small Vehicles and Track and Playsets team, in addition to contributing to some design work. Projects he contributed to during his tenure at Hot Wheels include Wall Tracks, Batman, Cars, Toy Story, Green Lantern, Speed Racer and Max Steel playsets. After his tenure at Mattel he worked for Ridemakerz and ran his own design studio, and was last an adjunct professor at the Academy of Art University. Driving through the streets of San Francisco provided its challenges but confirmed his belief that a motorcycle was the perfect tool for commuting in the city. He has used this form of transportation for commuting to work in New York City, Detroit and Troy Michigan to the greater Los Angeles Southern California area. Riding bikes has remained his favorite way to travel to this day.
